Helen is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Smith grandchildren, Kevin Smith (Jessica), Chris Smith (Becky), Kyle Smith (Amanda), and Cory Smith (Sarah) great-grandchildren, Emma, Sydney, John, Abby, Audrey, Sam, Katelyn, Noah, Mallory, and Caleb and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Sample son, John Francis Sample son-in-law, Larry Smith and siblings, Lucille Conrad, Mary Cox, Evelyn Ferguson, Robert Stark, Herman Stark, Lavern Vaughn, Audrey Summers, and Earl Stark. She was born on December 6, 1931, in Lanesville, Indiana, to Theodore and Mayme (Bacon) Stark.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was fond of her beloved dog, Daisy. She loved working in her garden and going on walks. Helen had also served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and liked singing in her church choir. John the Baptist Catholic Church and KofC #1348 Women's Auxiliary.
Helen Ruth (Stark) Sample, 90, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
